Why use a
purpose built e-Box Public Access Internet Kiosk?
Your customers now NEED
to access the Internet on a regular basis. Most people now run on-line bank
accounts, they have hot-mail e-mail accounts many of which are lost if they are
not accessed at least once a week. On-line auctions through sites such as eBay
are now the largest and most popular global retail outlets and chatrooms are
part of the daily life of many individuals.
There are many ways you can offer your
customer's access to the Internet with the simplest option appearing to be to
supply a standard computer and charge for the time used.
- Superficially this is fine but it means someone has to
be around all of the time to monitor usage.
- You can't be sure what your customers are doing, they
could be connecting to a premium charge telephone line and leave it connected
when they finish, this could run for days or indeed weeks until the connection
is identified and it could prove to be an extremely costly exercise. They could
have checked their bank balance or carried out on-line transactions, if they've
accidentally left their connection open or MS Windows has retained their
password the next user has total access to their account.
- If you are on a network and even the most novice hacker
uses your machine they could easily break into your system and cause havoc.
They could download and save numerous files including virus software. It only
takes an experienced user 10 seconds to enter a command to format the drives,
once this process has started it cannot be cancelled. This method is fraught
with danger for both the supplier and the end user of the service.
- Some
companies offer a service where a payment system linked to a timer that simply
cuts the screen connection when the time expires. This saves having to have
staff around all the time but as soon as the screen is reactivated all of the
problems described above come into play, you've not changed the way the system
works, you've just cut the visual image of what's going on inside the
processor.

The e-Box
software has been designed to reduce or eliminate these
problems
In simple terms it starts with the high-security keyboard. This has
no control keys and makes it impossible for anyone to access the operating
system without a password; in other words, they can't change any settings on
the machine or break into the network.
The next function is
to reset the internet kiosk and clear all history files at the end of each use
and not just cut the screen. This means that any links to banks or other sites
are completely closed and not accessible to the next user.
Installing the e-Box is the safest way to offer your customer access
to the Internet.
All
Net-Kiosks Internet teminals and kiosks are designed to offer a unique service
to the public while at the same time offer the potential of excellent profits
to the operator. All units are totally self-contained and require only a
broadband link and a power socket to operate.

Our
comprehensive range can be broken down into two distinct categories;
the high security kiosks range
for use in unsupervised areas with a high footfall. The units are manufactured
from 1.5mm powder coated steel and are fitted with a plate-glass cover over the
TFT monitor, a high security steel keyboard with integral rollerball and fitted
with an in-built web cam.
They are ideal for shopping centers, amusement arcades,
holiday parks, airports and motorway service areas. Users have full Internet
access and can send/receive e-mail, play games, check bank accounts or simply
surf the web. Times are typically set for £1 for 6-20 minutes use and the
mechanism will accept 50p, £1 and £2 coins and/or euro if required.
Income potential is massive, just a couple of uses a day can cover the entire
running costs and every additional use produces 100%
profit.
As a rough
indication to potential income a typical terminal used just 3 hours a day with
a charge rate of £1 for 10 minutes use will cover the entire cost of a
machine within 5 months and go on to produce an annual net profit in excess of
£6,500. |

We restrict the type of
files users can download. This reduces the chances of individuals downloading
virus-infected programmes. Although we can't guarantee that virus software will
never be downloaded we can reduce the chances dramatically and, with the use of
virus scanners reduce the chances to a minimum. Of course, if a virus gets onto
the machine it will not be transferred to the network as the user cannot access
any files other than those held on the internet terminal.
The e-Box is continually monitored by our
server to check that it is working correctly. If a virus is detected we can
inform you and remotely switch off the unit if required to restrict any further
potential problems. We can also offer regular software downloads to ensure your
e-Box is always operating to the latest specifications. The e-Box provides extra security as it
has a locking coin mechanism.
