What is an e-Box?
The e-box has been designed to be a totally free
standing, coin-operated Public Access Internet Terminal. It is a valuable tool
for your customer and allows the user to send and receive e-mails, surf the
web, send e-photos, e-videos, play games and a lot, lot more.
How is access charged?
The e-Box is fitted with a multi-coin acceptor and
charges a fixed rate per minute. The rate can be set and changed by the
operator.
Is it really 'plug and play'?
Every computer needs some specific configuration before
being connected to the Internet. The e-Box is factory-configured prior to
shipping to known locations (with known connection characteristics). Upon
arrival, all that is needed is a 13amp power supply and telecoms
connection.
What Internet connectivity is required?
The e-Box is designed to connect to the Internet through
a conventional telephone line equipped with an 'always on' ISP, a standard
Broadband link or, in remote areas without Broadband, a satellite link. We
recommend a Broadband connection.
What about support?
Each installation is supported by a qualified regional
distributor who will carry out the initial installation and training as well as
giving on-going support. All e-Box products are supplied with a fully
comprehensive two year warranty.
Can I change the content?
The e-Box is extremely versatile. The operator can set
up favourite sites such as local attractions or sites of regional interest,
screen savers, off-line web sites, local advertising and in-house promotional
information within seconds.
How much will I make?
At a standard charge rate of £1 for twelve minutes
use, an e-box will generate over £7,200 a year turnover based upon 4
hours utilisation each day. Premium locations will generate much higher
returns.
Can I use the e-Box for advertising?
When not being used by the public the e-Box can promote
either in-house or paid advertising. If 10 advertisers each take a 10 second
slot their entry is displayed every 90 seconds when the machine is not in use.
Thats approximately 3,360 individual showings a week based on a 12 hour
day. With a charge of £10 per entry per week this works out at under 1p
for 3 showings and could produce an additional revenue for the operator in
excess of £5,200p.a.
Why use an e-Box rather than a standard computer and charge
for time?
An e-Box rather than a standard computer will provide
you with peace of mind and security and covers many unthought of issues.
